Seton Center Outreach at the Cathedral of St. Peter
CALL THE OUTREACH at (302) 654-2275
In the first eight months of the year 2015, the Seton Center Outreach Ministry served families from the zip codes of 19801, 19802 and 19805, from the generous contributions from our parishioners, along with grants and donations from other charitable organizations. The Seton Center Outreach has made its niche in this community as it reaches out to the needy plagued with the challenges of today’s world. We also provide support to the homeless, unemployed and underemployed, along with meeting transportation needs and those on fixed incomes (especially the elderly). Other tangible needs we support are bedding for children, rents, utilities and medical needs.
In the Cathedral Parish Bulletin it states, that we are “Nourished by the Eucharist, therefore, our mission is to continue to reach out to the needy, to embrace our school children and their families, to serve seniors, and to love one another as in the imitation of our Lord Jesus Christ”. We will erect no boundaries, welcome all seekers, hold back nothing we should share, and rejoice in the differences that make us one.
Listed below for the period January - August 2015, the number of services we offered:
- Rent and utilities 126
- Certification and equipment for employment (flaggers) 67
- Other emergencies (medical, beds, etc.) 48
- Food pantry referrals 825
We are grateful to all those who have contributed to this ministry including volunteers who have given their time, energy, and dedicated devotion and commitment. If you wish to assist in this ministry, call the Seton Center Outreach at (302) 654-2275 and ask for Sr. Mary George D.C..
